M.I. Hummel
Maria Innocentia Hummel was born in Bavaria in 1909. As a child, she showed excellent artistic abilities. She enrolled in the Munich Academy of Applied Arts when she was eighteen. Teachers praised her, saying she would have a great artistic future. They were right. M.I. Hummel became known to the world as the gifted artist whose sketches and paintings involve young children playing and exploring with animals. These works of art have become the basis of M.I. Hummel Figurines at the Goebel Company. "I want to bring joy" was Maria Innocentia's personal motto. This was the starting point for the development of M.I. Hummel Figurines, and leads a path into the future as well. Sadly, in 1946, only at the age of 37, the life of this remarkable woman ended as she succumbed to tuberculosis. Her life ended much too soon. She left behind aried and extensive works of art, which continue to be sculpted into figurines. Her drawings showed the naturalness of expression in each person's face. Therefore, each figure tells its own story. The figurines are still carefully handmade in order to guarantee the best quality. M.I. Hummel Figurines are symbols of millions of people around the world. It is clear that her products continue to "bring joy", just like she wanted.
